Sanda Campus (SH)

Located in an area with strong resistance
to natural disasters and equipped with cutting-edge
facilities, this is a large-scale suburban data center in the Kansai region.

Location

The Sanda area is resistant to natural disasters and has good access from the central area of Osaka, making it a suitable location for data centers.

  • Low Earthquake Risk
    Low Earthquake Risk
It is situated on a hill supported by the Kobe Stratum, which is designated outside the promotion area for countermeasures against the Nankai Trough megathrust earthquakes, and it is also located at a sufficient distance from active fault lines.
  • Low Tsunami Risk
    Low Tsunami Risk
With an elevation of 236 meters and located about 23 kilometers away from the coastline across the Rokko Mountain Range, the probability of being affected by a tsunami is extremely low.
  • Low Flood Risk
    Low Flood Risk
It is located on a hill about 700 meters away from nearby rivers and is evaluated as having a low risk of flooding and sediment disasters according to hazard maps.
  • A minimum of 42 minutes from Osaka
A minimum of 42 minutes from Osaka
It has excellent accessibility, being a minimum of 42 minutes from Osaka and 25 minutes from Itami Airport, and a dedicated shuttle bus is available from the nearest station.

Facility Features

Earthquake Countermeasures

Earthquake Countermeasures

As a measure against lateral shaking, multiple seismic isolation devices are used for the foundation, and to counteract vertical shaking, critical vibration dampers (VEM dampers) that support each floor are adopted. The combination of these technologies can reduce earthquake shaking by up to 80%.

Power Receiving Equipment

Power Receiving Equipment

The power cables buried underground are fully redundant with two systems, allowing for maintenance and updates without interruption. The power receiving setup adopts a main and reserve line system that prevents outages even during maintenance. In the unlikely event that power supply stops, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) can provide power for about 10 minutes, during which time the in-house generator will start. Additionally, the air conditioning units also have dual power inputs, enabling continuous operation during inspections through system switching.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

The UPS adopts a block redundant configuration with an N+1 setup for each UPS set, plus an additional N+1 as a common spare. In the event of a failure in the primary UPS, it is possible to switch automatically and instantaneously to the reserve UPS without any interruption.

Private Generators

Private Generators

The in-house generators installed inside the building are set up with an N+1 configuration of gas turbine generators, capable of continuous operation for 72 hours without refueling. Additionally, test operations are conducted once a month, and dummy load operations are carried out every six months.

Security

Security

The facility implements multi-layered security checks to enhance safety:
- 24-hour manned surveillance using cameras and security sensors
- Inspections of belongings using X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Prevention of unauthorized entry into server rooms or tailgating through personal identification using IC cards combined with biometric authentication systems
- Rack opening and condition monitoring with electronic lock systems

Server Room

Server Room

Server rooms provide space in units of over 450 square meters, and the environment can be customized to meet specific requirements. Within the free access area, sufficient height and space for power cables are secured, and by storing network cables in dedicated ladders above the racks, air conditioning flow can be efficiently directed to the racks.

Compliance with Guidelines
