Our Basic Policy on Social Contribution Activities

Currently, the world faces many issues including climate change, issues with resources and energy, population explosion, poverty and economic disparity accompanying globalization. In 2015, Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity , which are central to the Agenda, were adopted at the General Assembly of the United Nations with unanimous approval of all member states. Cooperation is needed on a global scale to achieve SDGs and companies are required to play significant roles. In response to this global movement, we will be actively involved in the issues of local communities and international society and contribute to solving them, even if they are not related to our main business, in addition to enriching society through our main business of providing IT services. We believe that this is an important role we should fulfill as a corporation.

Based on this understanding, each employee of SCSK Corporation takes the initiative to promote social contribution activities by working with various stakeholders in Japan and overseas, including NPOs, corporations and researchers. In addition, by being actively involved in solving issues of local communities, our employees become aware of many things and feel a sense of fulfillment. This also leads to motivation to work and personal development.

We share our Policy on Social Contribution Activities across the SCSK Group and have determined priority areas  specific to the Group. Each employee will continue to promote social contribution activities by seriously working on the issues of each region.

Policy on Social Contribution Activities

Under our corporate philosophy of Create Our Future of Dreams , we co-exist in harmony with society and produce new value with our diverse stakeholders, thereby opening the way to a future with dreams. For the sustainable development of society, we carry out social contribution activities with an aim to solve social issues, instead of only engaging in business activities, in the following priority areas.

Priority Areas of Our Social Contribution Activities

We have selected priority areas of our social contribution activities to maximize the benefits we provide to society. They were selected based on various social issues, from multiple viewpoints, including consistency with our corporate philosophy, relevance to our business and effective utilization of our human resources familiar with IT and other management resources, with the leading role played by our CSR Officer. Information collected through interviews with business groups was also taken into consideration in the selection process.

Development of Next-Generation Human Resources

One activity that is important for realizing a sustainable society is the development of diverse next-generation human resources who will work to realize it. Therefore, as a company that includes “Respecting each other” in its corporate philosophy, SCSK Corporation fosters children through social contribution activities, positioning this initiative as one of our corporate social responsibilities.

Cooperation with Local Communities and International Society

At SCSK Corporation, we position the involvement of each employee in a variety of issues faced by local communities and international society as an initiative based on our mission, “Create Our Future of Dreams” and proactively promote the initiative by working together with NPOs and other organizations in various regions and fields.

Protection of the Global Environment

We believe that the protection of the global environment is a corporate social responsibility. In addition to pursuing environmentally-friendly business activities, we work on environmental conservation activities as social contribution activities and provide support to environmental NPOs.
